Regular Printhead Cleaning
Software Cleaning: Advertising plotters are usually equipped with printhead cleaning software. This is a relatively convenient cleaning method. Through software commands, the device automatically ejects a suitable amount of ink from the printhead to flush out impurities and dried ink from the nozzles. It is recommended to use the software cleaning function first when there is a slight decrease in print quality, such as occasional minor line breaks. Generally, performing software cleaning 1-2 times a week can effectively prevent printhead clogging.
Manual Cleaning: When software cleaning fails to solve the problem, manual cleaning is required. First, turn off the advertising plotter and carefully remove the printhead. Prepare a clean container and pour in an appropriate amount of special printhead cleaning solution. Immerse the nozzle part of the printhead in the cleaning solution. The soaking time depends on the degree of printhead clogging, generally 1-2 hours. After soaking, gently brush around the nozzles with a clean, soft brush to remove surface dirt. Then, rinse the printhead with distilled water to ensure that the cleaning solution is completely removed. Finally, let the printhead air dry naturally or gently dry it with a clean paper towel before reinstalling it in the printer.
